Hi! My name is Lisa Cullen. I am a local artist and a former teacher. I am passionate about art and believe in exposing children to it as early as possible.
My own artistic practice is varied as I love to create mixed media pieces, sculptures, collages and paintings. Sharing my love of art with children is the best job I could ask for.
The Studio
Welcome to the studio!
Here your artist will find a huge array of materials to investigate, and a fun, colorful environment to work in and be inspired by. Centers to explore include Drawing, the Art Library, Invitation to Create Station, and Weaving.
The Drawing Center
Offers a variety of drawing media, paper, drawing guides, coloring books and pages.
The Art Library
Has age appropriate books about artists and art making.
The Invitation to Create Station
Changes every few weeks; an assortment of materials are presented along with a prompt.
Weaving
Children weave yarn, string and fabric on small, wooden looms.
Pre-K
In Pre-K our projects are exploratory and embrace process art. Process art focuses on the creative process rather than the final product.
Children are encouraged to investigate a wide variety of mateirals in new and exciting ways. Art making aids in the development of small motor skills like scissor skills, and increases manual dexterity in addition to teaching social-emotional skills like sharing and working on a collaborative project.
